Creating the Craft of Tape Recording, by John T. Mullin

$0.99

The complete story of how magnetic tape recording came to be in the United States, told by the man responsible for it, John T. Mullin. This article covers the discovery of the German Magnetophon tape recorder, how Ampex Corporation got their start in magnetic recording, and how tape revolutionized the broadcast industry in the 1940's and beyond. This story was told in the 25th Anniversary Edition of High Fidelity Magazine (April, 1976) and may have faded into obscurity had it not been for an enterprising GearSlut who chased this story down and made it available in the form of this download. Definitely very interesting reading for anyone interested in the history of audio tape recording.
